JumpStarting STEM Careers originated in 2011 as a collaboration between researchers at George Washington, Ottawa, and Gallaudet Universities. It was a multi-day workshop originally called FORWARD to Professorship and was developed to help early STEM professionals [specifically women, minorities and those with disabilities] learn skills to help them prepare for, acquire and become successful in a STEM career. Since 2013 this evolved into a half day, theme based symposium which was held annually at Arizona State University. Beginning in 2016 the event became a one day all STEM conference with a poster session and poster awards.  The JSC conference is now being held Bi-annually so we have more time to recruit a large number of exceptional speakers.

The 2016 Conference was a huge success  with over 25 speakers and record attendance including virtual attendees from over 10 countries through our live stream.  The next JSC conference will be held on January 12, 2018.  Contact us if you are interested in helping or participating as a speaker.
